Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is a city of new buildings. In recent years new neighbourhoods surrounded the city. Eminently, if you hadn’t visited one of the city’s abandoned corners for several months you might not recognize the space where it used to be a wasteland, ramshackle buildings and shapeless sidewalk. The city is growing and becoming brighter and more scenic.
